Hey all,
Had my vt for few months now and its done 175k however am noticing now that when taking it up to 100 on the highway from 0 it shifts only when it gets up to quite a high speed and engine getting to quite high revs have to usually back foot off accelerator for a milisecond for it to shift.
Also when cruising sometimes when travelling 100 it will be at 3k revs and have to take it up to 105 for it to shift into highest gear and go back to around 2k revs. Usually is 2k revs when at 100... Is this going to be a growing problem if i dont sort something out- dont like the idea of going higher revs at 100 as will be chewing more fuel...
power button on or off
power button stretches the gears like a gay
if its doing it on economical problem somewhere
try a service
How's the trans fluid looking?

Hmm i kind of had a similar problem
When your car is idling, does it rev a bit faster than normal?

don't laugh but i reckon there's a huge chance it's a tuning issue.plugs& leads first, then look at the coil pack (or perhaps just an individual coil )and a service of course Good luck
I got a similer problem, got my vy 03 Auto transmission checked and found the tranny pump not working properly and also had a leak , mine was doing the same , with low fluid it cooked the clutch and now he quoted me $650 only for the pump, $1100 for pump and clutch or $1600 for rebuild of the transmission with 12months warrenty.
Mine has only done only 106000 ks,,am amazed how could holden tranny go bad........
at the moment am totally confused ,should i get a whole rebuild or just the new clutch. and for you brother would reckon to go to a transmission specialist..
ive just put a new 6hbd in my ss but need to know witch fitting is a feed line and witch is the return line is the top fitting on trans the feed and the bottem fitting on trans the return? some 1 help
When it does shift, are the shifts very hard/jerky - especially the 1 -> 2 shift. If so I would (almost) put my money on replacing the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Below are the instructions for replacing the TPS on a VX, the VT shouldn't be too different:
I had a similar problem and one of my ignition leads had completely fallen off. just check them to see if there all secure.
