Not trying hard enough. I had a similar issue. Had to have a decent drill on a decent speed and it tore through it like nothing. Be very very careful though.

Takes ages trust me,, took me about 4ish hours on wraiths car, but like he said be careful, one slip an threw the paint it goes,,
Also a caramel wheel is the only way to get it off

If i lived near by i would do it for you

Yes, it's going to take some effort. The Sikaflex can be softened with alcohols. Methylated spirits is cheap and pretty safe for both paint and skin.

A plastic paint scraper or piece of wood sharpened to a chisel shape helps, then rub off the remainder with a rag - use something tough like denim or canvas - soaked in the metho.

I did one side of my car, and that was just to get a reasonable surface to glue the new chrome strips to. Took 8 hours and I haven't done the other side yet lol

Depends on the paint. I've used it on acrylic without issues. It will be very obvious if the paint is rubbing off onto the rag.

    lol
Except that the Sikaflex rolls off in little balls and sometimes big strips (that should be some indication of the technique required) and any paint would show up as staining on the cloth.

I disagree. It just requires patience and effort.

when me and my mate did this on his vx wagon it took him 5 hours to one side then i was like ill get started on the other side, just got some fishing line pulled through the back of the moulding till i could get my fingers under and started pulling it off, took me half an hour to do one side of the car with barley and black stuff left on the paint and not a single flake of paint came off it as well, im thinking that it's more than likely a one off thing lol.

the technique i used was carby and throttle , i let it soak for 15 seconds or so then got the heat gun out , melted it up till it bubbled then got the plastic scrapper and it scrapped off without a problem . To bad i figured this out on the last door haha . touched up the paint yesterday good as gold until i receive my chrome strips off eBay will upload pictures in afew hours of the final outcome

It's possible that one side of the car has had the strips replaced, maybe as part of an accident repair (it could be just a scrape). That can also affect the quality of the paint (likely the prep. rather than paint per se) and how easily the paint is chipped or stripped off.
