auto transmission on vx clubby blown?

hi,

i have a vx series 1 clubsport 5.7.

the trans warning light came on, and it has been holding the gears for a while now, and just today it is holding in first gear and reving high so i cant realy take it past 30km,

please any info on what im up for??

You may have a shift solenoid problem - easy and cheap fix. You need to take it somewhere that has a scanner to check what error codes have been logged to be certain of the problem. TPS is also a possibility but wouldn't normally keep the trans in first. Can you get all gears by selecting them manually?
