Power Steering Boot replacement & Speedo question

Howdy,

I have a tear in my Power steering boot on the left hand side of my car, no serious leak, power steering fluid levels are not noticeably dropping, but my steering pulls to the left fairly bad. Is it possible to replace the boot, would it be simple. OR do you guys think that is not even the problem.

Also, my Speedo is rooted, the circuit board has been damaged and tracks are burnt out. Is it possible to just replace circuit board with another, but take out the working brains of the old one and put them on the new fine circuit board?(Eliminating having to to to a Auto-Elec)

yes its easy to change the boot just remove your wheel,take a spanner 19mm i think to your tie rod end nut and loosen it to just over the top of the thread get a big hammer and hit the arm the tie rod goes through on the side to shock it loose, remove nut fully then mark the position of your tierod end loosen locknut and wind the tierod end off the steering rack shaft off you can then cut the cableties holding your ps boot on and remove boot to install is the same just reversed you will probably need a wheel alignment after but if you mark the position of the tierod end on the rack carefully it should be close enough.
it definatley wont be the boot making your car pull to the left ,your alignments out.

The boot won't cause the pull. The boot just protects the rack from dirt and small rocks and the like.

Count the turns when removing the tie rod end, no need for an alignment afterwards, but since it pulls left, it probably needs one anyway. What are the tyres like? Have you checked the pressures lately? Try swapping the front tyres left to right and see if makes a difference.
