Hey guys, have installed a comp 222/224 112lsa, it idles
Nice but when driving and then put the clutch in it will stall most of the time, the guide I followed to install the cam recommended drilling a bigger hole in tb butterfly for bigger cams etc. I didn't think I had to because it's only a baby cam, will the tuner do this to make it not stall or is it just in the tune. I am getting it tuned soon and I'm not driving it, but I live 1.5hrs from adel and will need to drive it down.
yea the tuner should sort this for you, not saying he will drill it but they will find out whats best... I had mine drilled out by my tuner for a 220/220
ok cool thanks again guys, if i do drill it out a little in the mean time until i can finish the exhaust and get it to the tuner, will it stop it dying? as i said it idles fine but when coming down from rev's it wants to die, so you can imagine me coming to a stop with clutch in tapping accelerator while breaking, thankgod i live in the country. i have to tell you though i have definately a bit of a power increase i can only cream myself as to how good its going to be when i get it dyno tuned and mafless'd. seen another car on here rossi vyss with same cam similar exhaust to which im thinking of made 269rwkw's hope i can get above 250
Umm.. guys... If your tuner drills a hole, or drills out an existing hole in the throttle blade for a cam this small (or anything short of 24x/24x) you REALLY need to find a new tuner. This isn't the 80's anymore, there is enough control to do this properly now.
thanks for clearing that up nem, i wasnt sure as im new to the cam business
If you want to work-around the tune just to get it there, you can adjust the throttle stop screw which will open the blade slightly more than usual. Make sure you let your tuner know this before they start tuning it though, as they should set it back to how it was and tune accordingly.
