Hi,
I'm kinda lost I'm rebuilding a ecotec for my VT and doing a fair few internal mods like new pistons rods crank cam double row timing chain YT roller rockers valve springs the whole works and now I'm stuck with the question do I have to get a custom ECU and memcal to suit the mods or can I reprograme the factory ECU and what are the costs involved in it
Thanks
Best thing you can do would be to get the factory ECU dyno tuned with Kalmaker software. Cost wise around $1000-$1500 I got quoted $1249 to get mine done.

Bloody hell thats alot of money for someone to press a few buttons on a computer! You V6 guys sure get pwned.
Dyno tune would be the best cost around the 1g mark.
There are several different software packages around that can be used to tune the existing ECU/PCM, personally I use and love the Kalmaker software.
Depending on where you go to how much it is going to cost you. For N/A V6's, I have seen prices as high $1500.00.
Do some hunting around and you may find that you can find a Kalmaker Tuner that charges a reasonable price.
When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all,,,,,,,,,

Greenfoam does do great tunes, I know this as I have one. But if I was to do the whole engine like this bloke has said he is doing I would get a proper dyno tune done with Kalmaker software.
Greenfoams tune was great by the way, but I need a re-tune and can't get in contact with him!

From what i hear Greenfoam tunes are good.
But the best would be a dyno tune mate.
