Thought i would post here prior to getting a tech 2 scan as it may be a common issue.
My Vu has been idling rough over the the last month or so, not to the point of cutting out etc but only that it bunny hops when crawling in peak hour traffic (its an auto).
Anywho i was fine with this as the car itself runs fine - bar the idle. Now in the last couple of days the engine check light has come on, this normally only happens within the first 5mins of driving from cold and then goes away after awhile and comes back every so often (normally when creeping in slow traffic).
Im guessing that this check light is pointing in the direction of the idle fault, i thought i would ask here as no doubt someone has had the same problem at some stage
Go get it checked out. Could be any number of issues causing it. Too many to guess at accurately. Save yourself time and get it diagnosed properly.

Sounds like it could be a TPS problem but it's better to find out if any errors have been logged to save replacing parts that don't need replacing - you need a scan tool for the Gen III V8. Auto electricians have scan tools and may be able to give you a cheaper price for a scan than Holden.
Definately the safest bet, will book it in next weekend - hopefully its nothing major (or too expensive at least)
Checked the error codes yet? It only takes a minute to check yourself
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
tech 2 scan from what im told? will have it done over the weekend
good guys at ultra tune Hamilton scanned the car for free and cleared the code. No faults were read, there was only a problem with the car over fueling (maybe injector related) anywho, over the weekend the car appeared to fix itself as the idle is back to normal and the fuel consumption has also changed. not sure what exactly happened but im not complaining
Like everyone is saying get it checked for codes.
I would also check for loose vacum hoses in the engine bay in regaurds to the bunny hopping
