I recently got new tyres on the rear, with a 5% higher ratio than my old ones, and now they rub on the wheel guard with my SuperSuperLows.
Ive raised the car back up to stock height but desperately want it lowered back, even a little.
Are there any other options other than the following?
-new tyres (previous size)
-superlow springs
-low springs
-rolling guards
Thanks for the help in advance
whot size tyres are you running? i have 245 45 17 on my vtss its got ultralows (supers front)in it i think and they are sweet, no rubbing at all, just some camber.
I had 245/35/19, now i have 245/40/19.
Im more than likely just going to buy tyres, but im low on cash, i might see if the wheel deal can give me a deal.
Do you know of anywhere else?
Bash the guards out with a big hammer. It will suit the ass draggin on the ground bogan look dude... Fully Sic man sub woofa..

Mate call dave on 0403 263 361 down at wall street kustoms in breaside and mention Michael with the vx calais sent you and he'll take care of you, in all truth you shouldn't have gone any larger than 225's and to the guy above me flipping out about SSL's i have a mate who rolled with daewoo's on 20" wheels for 2 years in the 'ass end of a commodore' .. hows that for illegal ?
lowering your car benefits you more than causing issues, it should be law for cars to be lower.. lower cars have less chance of flipping and being unstable..
At least FORD circled the problem
That's what I love about the forum, Its a place where some moron like a pastry cook can demand more credibility than a than an automotive engineer..
Feel free to continue with your uneducated bull shit, while this poor bugger listens to you and bounces of his extremely low suspension bump stop around a bend on one of our shitty roads and ends up out of control in to the front of a truck..
And you guys wonder why you end up as a road statistic. Don't base your understanding suspension on a guy the very limited knowledge of a mate who rolled with daewoo's on 20" wheels..
Go to a recognised Suspension place like Pedder and ask for educated advice.

Gotta love the internet![]()

via the internet? and there was no need for comment of "sarcasm"
and how are ssl springs dangerous? they aren't extremely 'low" as you state. and as for crashing into a truck im pretty sure the OP hasn't cut his springs and done some home made job on his suspension, making his ride unsafe and he going to loose control on the first corner he takes and crash into a truck.
to me zap your just one of those people that sit there and wine and bitch about cars being to low, to loud and you throw your 10cents in when ever its needed.
i run 225's with 18's SSL and rolled rear guards and dont have a problem at all.

I have a VX Calais with 235 x 18 that sits 85mm off the deck all the way round. It doesn't scrape it doesn't hit the bump stops on shitty roads and handles like on rails.
I guess that throws a spanner in your argument.
I have no problem with lowered street cars as long as they are done to a safe engineered outcome. and don't just have there asses slammed on the ground and there shit scraping and dragging down the road..
Advice is to anybody lowering a car do it properly and you wont have a problem. Go see the professionals and ask for advice.. You wont regret it..

I can see this thread ending in tears ha ha
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
1. Thanks for all the suggestions and entertainment, not looking to cause arguments or side with anyone, but...
I ran SSLs and did it purely for the looks; its what i like. It was done properly and safely by Narre Suspension Specialists.
I scrape on the steepest driveways (like mine, bulls**t!) and high speedbumps, but other than that, i dont have a problem and i consider it worth it.
Then again, i have to agree with zapp, im not keen on ridiculously low bagged rides.
Have you had any problems with cracked paint etc, or did you use a heat gun/hair dryer when you rolled the guards?
My main question: If i had 245/35/19 tyres with Sigs (the genuine 19" ones), and i got new 19" Advantis and 245/40/19 tyres, if i get new 245/35/19 tyres will i still be rubbing on my guards?
P.S. - Nice commentFunny thing is, i just got a sub+amp package
lol Dm quit trolling threads with your pics :P

they bring the lulz.
but seriously, lowering a car on 245's ends bad?
275/40r17 on king ssl and kyb excel g shockers, I had to remove some of the plastic from the body behind the tyre and rolled the guard ever so slightly and I get 3 people across the back seat and no rub
The problem with internet, as pointed out by Zapp, is that i cant tell whether you're being sarcastic or not...
ANYWAYYY. I got brand new 245/35/19 from The Tyre Factory Dandenong, 280 fitted and balanced. Fingers crossed when i put my SSL springs back in on Sunday that the guards will fit nice and perfect like they used to.
Just curious, how much does it cost to have your guards rolled?
