Default Is the vx v6 tailshaft the same as the Gen3 tailshaft ?

Hey guys , i need to replace the centre bearing on my Gen 3 vx , i was told that replacing the whole tailshaft is pretty much the only way it can be done ? wreckers are asking around $250 for a second hand one , was wondering if the v6 ones where the same or not , i kind of figure they wont be but i thought id just ask anyhow just incase im wrong ? .

As above, they're different unfortunately. That's also about the normal asking price for a vx ls1 tailshaft.

I just had mine replaced (the centre bearing), brought this :COMMODORE,VX,VY,STATESMAN,WH,WK,V8,NEW,CENTRE,BEAR ING | eBay
An took it to my mechanic, who had never taken one apart before, $150 plus a coulpe of hours later all done an has been running fine for the last 1000km or so. Alot cheeper than buying a whole new tailshaft like holden want you to do.
Take it easy...But do take it...

Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience
    .

Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
