Heya guys. Its been a while since i started a thread but here it goes.
In my VT i replaced the head unit with a JVC (not sure which model but it has USB). This was at the end of 2009 so it's been a while. Once i put in the loom and wired up the unit as per the wiring diagram the front left and rear right door speakers completely stopped working.
Could this possibly be the loom that is faulty or was it just magic that it happened straight after a new head unit?
I want to know as i am getting some splits and 3 ways for front and rear respectively and thought i might sort this out first.

did you cut up the wires? or did you buy one of those loom adapter things from dna?
you may have connected them wrong or possible dont have a decent enough connection
between the wires?
speaker wires need to be very well joined at the loom if you have wired it yourself, though if a loose speaker wire is the problem, its symptom usually is blowing the stereo fuse. not speaker not working.
could be a faulty head unit. did u buy it new, or second hand? sometimes the speakers wont work when the head unit has stuffed up. but the unit still powers up as if working. just a possibility anyway
Bought it new. And i got a loom from DNA. Is it possible it is the loom, because the Right Front and Left Rear work :/
And i don't really want to replace the unit yet :P
i spose its possible its the loom. i would try to press all the plugs in harder first. if that does nothing, try taking the loom back and getting a replacement (say it didnt work). try the new loom and see if that fixes things. you cant really pull the speaker wires at the speaker end via the headunit end, so the problem will lie within the loom plugs or head unit
at least the head unit should be under warranty if thats the problem. as you bought them both from the same place, they should give you any resistance with giving you a replacement loom to try first. just make sure you dont act like you have no idea to the salesguy and he should help you out here. for example, if you ask all vaguely like "it MAY be the loom or something" they might try to stuff u around. just go in and be all definate. say something like "this loom is wired up wrong. gosh, i buy a loom to save time, and i get this ####".
say it nicely though![]()
