Hi I just brought a new 97 calais with a hollandia sunroof and the sunroof will not respond to any input from the controls no clicking sounds also how do i troubleshoot this? what fuses should I be looking for?
I'd be removing the fuse panel under the steering column. Somewhere here you should find 2 additional remote fuses in a holder. These are inline of the constant and ignition power source from the harness feeding to the ignition barrel and up the drivers 'A' pillar to the sunroof control switch. Also look for an additional relay connected to the sunroof wiring that may be faulty. The hollandia units fitted in 97' often didn't use an additional external relay so don't be alarmed if you cant find one.
Hope that gives you a start.
Cheers
just tested every fuse under the dash couldnt find anything wrong....
Maybe it's the sun roof switch it self
switch also tested and working![]()
try puttin 12V directly 2 the motor n see if u can hear it trying 2 move. if nothing the motor could b stuffed/seized.

Have you tested with a multimeter/testlight that you actually have 12v upto the unit itself?
all fuses have been double checked, there is no fuse labled sunroof though
You wont find one labelled 'Sunroof' in the fuse panel. The two fuses you're looking for will be in a remote/inline fuse holder in the actual electrical wire itself. Locate the main wiring harness that feeds up the steering column. Branching off this harness should be 2 wires (likely both red) and this will go across to the drivers side in this area and eventually up the front A pillar. These are the constant and ignition power sources for the sunroof. Each of them will be fused. The inline fuse holder will often be blue and they often use the 3M scotchlock type. See pic below.

Not too much experience in this but I'm going to contribute an idea.
Although the fuses may be fine, I'm assuming that the sunroof motors actually utilise a relay?
If this is the case, a screwed relay would account for the issue.
Good luck.
Im not trying to sound smart about it, but keep looking. They’ll be there. Maybe then remove your drivers A pillar plastic trim to reveal where the power wires to the sunroof run and then track them backwards to the source.
As I mentioned in an earlier post and also by Jesterarts above, also look for an additional relay that has been fitted somewhere here in the steering column/fuse panel area. As I mentioned though, I wouldn’t be surprised if a 97’ model unit didn’t utilise one.
Essentially, you need to find exactly where it is picking up power from. Between this location and the sunroof switch it will be fused. Have you removed the steering column plastic surround to inspect the harness? This is where most sunroof installers will splice into. In this main harness it will be a red and a brown wire.
