hey guys just wondering on a few tips and ideas on how to insert a pair of 6x9s in the trunk lid , iv searched up and down all of the net and asked mates of mine . how would i go for upholstery ? do i cut out and mount where the 6x9 are goingto go with mdf then fibre glass around them or do i use some sort of sponge then materail over the top?
if anyone has any ideas or has done this before please give your feedback and what process you went through
cheers damo
Well obviously take the boot lid off, will be much easier to work with. Make the basic 6x9" frame from wood, then screw that to the inner boot skin/metal sheet, ensuring you don't damage the outer layer. Get all your wiring hooked up/run to the frames. Then just fibreglass away.

i done this install a while back on my VT, it was very easy using mdf and we used dynomat on the boot before putting the mould over.
but honestly its a pretty pointless install because subs just over power them in the boot anyways. only good for sound offs.

Can be used for parties and the like if you don't want to risk using the sub in cause they drain the battery. Open the front doors for some nice 6" speakers, and a couple of 6x9" on LPF will go OK.
