Default steering reservoir dumped its guts

i didn't drive my Commode for about two weeks and i had a drive the other day

i heard this big ass grinding whining noise coming from the bonnet somewhere

    steering effort seemed the same

so i opened the bonnet and found the reservoir empty... i pulled a 500ml auto trannie fluid bottle from the garage and dumped it in

as far as i remember it was ok... anyone know where all the pwr steer fluid is going???

    besides the floor

probably out the rack seals (like mine last year) put oil in and turn the wheel and out it came just as quick on the ground. New rack required and fitted to my car.

V6? Could also be the pump. Apparently quite common for the pumps to leak out the back. Seal kit is $11 from Holden if you're up for a DIY job.

have a good look as to where oil is or could be leaking from, there is hoses fitted with hose clamps sometimes they can come loose, if they are loose tighten them up but if they are tight your looking at a more costly repair.

The hoses are only $15 each from Holden too, and that's a good point, they often perish too.
