    Default Dyno reports

    Hey guys,

    Recently i've had a DuSpeed OTR and edit done to my VX2 SS. I had a 245.5HP to 293.5HP increase @ 5340RPM and a 361.1NM to 411.2NM incease @ 4717RPM

The only mods i have ATM are the DuSpeed, edit and a 2.5inch catback. I've been trying to convince my self to get headers and cats but im just coming up short in the motivation department... and this is where these forums need to come into it.

the question i ask is, does anyone out there have any sort of hard evidence to show me that spending the coin the headers/cats will give me an increase... and if so, how much? The person who did my tune said i probably will not gain much more HP but alot more torque. Is that true?

    Cheers

well my vxss had 320rwhp when i had the full exhaust so 27rwhp more but you will have to pay to get the tune touched up which might be a couple of hundred

Well, the place that did my tune said they will do a retune/dyno + install of headers/catts + buy the headers/cats through them for $1400 drive in drive out.

Torque is what you want, get all the torque you can.

I had a cat-back only on my old Senator when it was first dynoed - 195rwkW.

With the addiition of DiFilippo 1 3/4 4-1 extractors - nothing else - same cats, cat-back, CAI and tune - it made 206rwkW.

Take from that what you will.

    Thanks for the info guys.

So, ive been seeing only the HP increase but im more interested in the torque increase. As much as HP/RWKW is amazing, at the speeds where its maxing it out, i dare say i won't be hitting those speeds on roads around Newcastle lol.

So, in light of that, how much more torque should i get with aforementioned mods?

Yes, it can be a guessing game... but does it have to be? Im sure alot of people on these forums had a baseline done on their car before a dyno tune. The mods i have/want to do are pretty much the normal if not what the majority of forums users have. So if the guys from the above threads and/or others can share their torque increases that would be great!

Hey miffie you will notice an increase in power/torque once you get headers and a tune. I've got pacemaker headers on my car (it's a V6 mind you) and when they were installed I noticed a difference then even more of one once it was tuned.

    Streamline Automotive, Warners Bay

    DuSpeed OTR + Tune/Auto tune = $1300
    Xforce headers + Xforce cats 2.5" + Retune = $1400

The OTR + Tunes were amazing. The difference in sound and performance was, AWESOME!! Being an auto, when it changes gears you can really feel the car jump forward and do a bit of a chirp, even light up (running 18" 245's on the back)

dyno's are tuning tools, and nothing more.

the numbers are a complete guessing game, varies so much between dyno to dyno.
