    Default vx series 2 indicator stalk

    just woundering if a vx series 2 indicator & wiper stalk is compatible with a series 1 vt? i recon they look much better

    I completed this in my car.


    Basically once you have the stalks, you will need the VX car end plugs, So you cut off the VT plugs on your car, solder on the VX plugs (EXACT colour matching for every wire) then your vx stalk can now just plug straight in. Very straight forward.

    hi
    i have got a vx stalk and im trying to fit it to my s1 vt, it plugs straight in but the vx stalk has an extra plug with 2 wires? everything works apart from the adjustable function which is what i really want. do these wires need to be soldered in somewhere? can anyone help me?

    wipers? need matching BCM and wiring to have variable intermittent dwell.

    As above, if your vt didn't have the variable intermittent wiper speed already, simply putting in a stalk which has this feature will not make it work. Assuming your vt is a lower variant i.e. executive or similar, I don't think your bcm would support this even with the necessary wiring. Basically, will require a mid or lux bcm and wiring etc.

    so it does plug straight in??

    No. VX series 2 onwards changed the plug. The indicator/wiper stalk unit though will clip into the housing just the same, but the wiring plug is different. Since you want to fit this to your vt, you're best to go to a wrecker and cut these two stalk plugs with a short length of wiring off a wreck. Then, cut the plugs off the harness in your vt and solder on the new plugs you've got. For a vt, the wire colours should be a straight match.

    but the stalk i have plugs straight in and works fine, you just can not adjust the speed. (its from a vx statesman) i think its got something to do with the extra plug with 2 wires? sucks it cant be made to work

    Posts 8 & 9 already answered your question. Did you read them?
    This thread was about indicators stalks and you seem to be talking about the wiper stalk. Or are you talking about the cruise control dial?

    yea i been talking about the wiper stalk refered to in thread one so i gatherd that was what we talken about. o well i know it wont work know i spose ill just sell them on trademe cause i got both wiper and indecater for free. cheers anyway.
