Need help to advise what tool to use to remove the gas strut from the body of the car (not bonnet part) as the nut isn't one ive seen before and nothing seems to work and can't find a solid answer anywhere.
so its the gas struts in the bonnet but its the two screws down the bottom??
if so its called a 'hex' screw, just go to super cheaper or autobahn and buy a hex key set.
Starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die
Gettin high, watchin time fly
Yeah removing the clip from the top is fine its just the two at the bottom which I can't remove. Thanks for your help DanLucas
Did this last week. Its a hex or torx head
Or just leave it in place and unscrew the strut from the end, screw the new one in place.
Are you talking about the two bolts that bolt bottom of strut to wheel hub?
Lol whoops I though poster was taking about the bonnet struts and not the suspension struts.
if your taking about the bonnet strut you need a torx fitting, cant remember what size. FYI: Google Images
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
Does anyone know what size the torx screw head is for these struts? I have got a T30 & T40 and neither of these seem to fit properly, maybe I'm just unco! lol Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Guru
Give me 5 minutes and i hopefully will have an answer for you mate.
EDIT.. T30 works perfectly for mine. What is your problem to small for the T30 to big for the T40 ?. there's a T45 so a T35 should be available.
