    Default WH Statesman Overheating Issues

Took my 01 Statesman in for its 200K Major Service a few weeks back. Noticed a few problems with it overheating, Replaced Raditor, Hoses, Water Pump, Complete Flush and Pressure Test.

After all of that the problem still is happening. Holden at hope Valley can't find any errors with it at all, they said it might be the oil so they changed it.

A new problem has now started im filling up the radiator every two days now, there are no leaks and the pressure is fine. Once i fill it up there is a foamy camel colour that appears.

The car has been back to Holden six times and the problem still is happening.

Two days ago notice Creaming Paste on the oil Cap, i've not driven it yet not sure what the hell is wrong with it.

    Can anyone help.

Id say the inlet manifold gaskets are leaking/blown.A very common problem with these engines. At least they are cheap and easy to replace. They should have showed up in the cooling system pressure test though..

Thats what im wanting to know, when they told me it was the oil they made me wait around for 5 hours until it was done. After i was told it would only take 1 hour at the most.

You can buy the metal type inlet manifold gaskets from mace engineering for $110,see the first link below. These apparently wont fail like the standard plastic type gaskets do.I havent tried them yet myself, but when mine are due for replacement again,I will be giving them a go.As for the standard plastic gaskets ,I couldnt find any to get an idea of their price, but I found a VRS gasket set, which includes the new inlet manifold gaskets you need, they are not exactly cheap though at $150.See the bottom link.Someone here might be able to point you to some single inlet manifold gaskets that are cheap.. If you are gonna pay someone to do the job, then Id still get the metal type gaskets and just get them to fit them for you.The cost of getting it done by a mechanics depends on where you take the car,so I cant really give you an amount, maybe around the $300 to $500 mark? Ive no idea really as I do all my own work. You will have to shop around and get a few quotes.Let us know how you go.

Well one problem found so far, Inlet Manifold is leaking. But may also have a problem with exhaust leaking to. Mechanic said car would be fine to drive until he can repair it next week some time.

Just wanted to know if the car is safe to drive. Don't want to blow my motor.

krm88 it sounds bad mate, sounds like the overheating and the trans slipping could be contamination of trans fluid with coolant and vice versa (inside the radiator theres a transcooler and it may be damaged), get it checked asap and don't drive it.
