My car hasn't been serviced for 15,000 k's and it just hit 120,000 so its well overdue for a service. Since I only bought it at 118,500 I'd like to get mostly everything up to scratch so at least I know where its at when it get serviced again.
What sort of spark plugs, leads (If i need them), oil and filters should I look at getting. I was thinking of mostly getting genuine holden stuff and then a k&n air filter or something? My brakes are squeeky as #### at the moment to so i'm gunna get the mechanic to have a look at them.
Thanks and just let me know if there's anything else I need to look into![]()
The parts you would require for a service would be transmission oil and filter service kit, oil filter and oil, spark plugs, ignition leads. also check your coil packs, coolant, brakes pads and rotors would need to be changed if they are squealing, fuel filter would need to be changed as well and check your heater tap, hoses and clamps, brake flush is also required. Your looking at about $500 for a complete overhaul
If its Found On a Rubbish Dump its a FORD if it is Holden On its a Holden. Pick your poison.
Like said above.
I use Castrol Magnatec 10w40, which will be fine with that amount of k's.
NGK plugs (don't buy Bosch!) I think from memory they are: BPR6EFS15.
Oil and fuel filter: Repco, Valvoline or Ryco.
Leads: Top gun aren't bad.
Transmission is easy to self service if you have a bit of mechanical knowledge.
Change power steering fluid too.
The list could go on but that should get you started!
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
