Ibought a tailshaft out of a 5.7 L vt ss , assuming it would be the same as my 5.7 L vx , its not the same at all , why is this ?
manual and auto have diff ones im pretty sure
And the v6 one is different too, check the flange at the end of the tailshaft where it meets the diff. Auto/manual-v8 should have the same rubber joining flange but on the other hand a vt v6 tailshaft-completly different just steel flange.
If its rubber flange-id imagine like old mate said its difference between auto and manual.
But if its metal flange id say you been shafted for a v6 shaft.
yeah its a bloody metal flange one , no rubber at all , he said it came out of his vt ss , i even saw the motor still in the car so **** knows whats going on ,
I could be wrong maybe, possible for the earlier series11 vt's they had the metal one man im not sure but like yours my vx setup has the rubber flex part inbetween the tailshaft and diff. where as i know the vt v6 shaft bolts steel to steel flange with like 6 bolts i think, but the vx v8 one only has 3 big bolts through the rubber into the diff.
I hope you get it sorted out please dont jump the gun @ who you got it from as it could be the proper v8 one but they may just differ between vt series11 and vx.
Hope you get it sorted out mate..
thanx heaps mate , ill just re sell it i guess only payed 40 bucks for it so no big loss i guess, apart from wasting my time haha , cheers again
