    Default Welded diff??

Is a welded diff the only way besides an LSD or mini spool spinning both wheels?

Ok well I have both my wheels spinning but don't have an LSD. Any way to check for spooled or welded diff besides taking a look inside?

Will do Tommorow but when I had the rear end jacked up the other week I spun the wheels and they both spin in opposite directions.

Mate the best way to tell is to do a tiny stand-still burnout and get a mate to watch, if it spins one wheel it's almost certainly a Holden LSD

When the rear of the car is jacked up,and one of the rear wheels is turned by hand,if the opposite wheel goes in a different direction to the wheel you are turning, then the diff is an open wheel or single spinner diff.If the wheels both spin together in the same direction, the diff is LSD or similar.

I tend to agree with this, my vx diff has a tag on the filler bolt, it says "use high performance oil or something", but im certain its not a lsd diff. it came from a base model vx executive with a factory gen3.

There is another way i've been told of. Don't know how and i'm unsure if it actually works though..

Yeah well theirs nothing to suggest it on the casing. I've either got an LSD or my mate is seeing things.

You have an open diff - no lsd, spool or welds.
