a few quick questions about vt mods

I have a 2000 olympic edition vt commodore and i want to do it up a bit... cosmetically first then ill move onto performance... she goes alright for now
what are peoples thoughts on red illumination of instruments and switches etc. not a bright red just a light/dull one. and i also want red led's under the front seats.
The car is red and I am planning to have red seat covers and floor mats etc.
Is this safe and legal...?
I am also wondering if it is possible to either modify the vt back seat so that it can fold down, or to add the already foldable back seat from a vt wagon... im just thinking that its easier to have folding seats than to have to hire a trailer or something to transport
large stuff.
I also want to replace the dash fascia with a silver one, replace the front and back seats with better looking ones that are in better condition... add fog lights and a fog light button... and i also need to find a way to fix my roof as it is drooping down... from smoking in the car
also does anyone know of a good wrecker in wa that is reasonably priced and have vt's. I am missing a few things from the passenger side like a mudflap and the a/c airvent...

Hey mate. Regarding the red LEDs in the dash, it's good if done properly. If you check out my ride thread on my old VR you will get an idea how it will look..

ok first off, RED led and dash cluster, yes you can do it, but to be honest after using my housemates VE that had a red dash lights from factory, they seem to strain the eyes and just arnt a real good colour for instuments, but if that doesnt bother you then go for it, if you pm WRX884 on here he is in perth and does these dash ligh conversions
the LED's under the seats etc im pretty sure is legal in most states as long as they only operate with the interiour lighting, eg: when you open a door etc, dont quote me on that but thats what the law used to be in NSW, other states im not sure.
As for the rear seat folding down ive never seen it done, mainly because the middle seat already does fold down so thats usually more than enough for most people.
The silver dash facia is easy to do if you have a look on ebay there are plenty of aftermarket ones on there, not just plain silver but plenty of different styles, with the seats unless you cant pick up a mint set you would be better off getting your ones retrimmed, but having said that i have seen some VT/X leather seats and door trims come up for sale pretty cheap both on here and ebay.

wow matt that is so red lol... i just remembered my stereo is also red so it will match well lol... did the red dash face make it hard for you to read or adjust your eyes or anything? do you think the red lights would look alright with maybe a white face instead of black or any other colour?
also did you have the floor lights on while driving or just when u flick the switch/open the door... i dont know if i want my floor to be that bright lol
i did see the silver fascia's on ebay... they are so expensive though... i was reading something on here before about painting it silver... does that work well or not? coz if it does then ill just get a spare one and paint it so i dont ruin the original one lol...

hey I was just looking at this thread and i love the interior but im not keen on all the leather... so i was wondering if it would look good if i just made the fascia similar to that but red and maybe have red surrounds on the air vents on the doors....
would i have to paint the fascia to be the same colour as my car or could i just buy it that way?

can i add an electric antenna instead of a normal one? would it be hard to do? what about auto headlights?
also anyone know how to fix the drooping roof... it looks ugly at the moment lol
my boyfriend stapled his back onto his roof but i am definatley hoping for something better and more attractive than that lol

ive been looking around the forum and I am keen to redo my roof lining now that i found a how to... and also the fabric on the doors... have to pick a colour first though lol
i also read about re-upholstering the seats etc... and read about ones that you can just slip on... i dont want to spend loads of $$ for a pro to do it and i suck at sewing lol
so can you just but a proper slip on cover or whatever? are they decent? and how expensive are they?
