As the title says. I basically need to know what front calipers are the same as my VX V6 ones. AFAIK the VT/VX/VY Holden calipers are the same, just not the HSVs, true?
I managed to shear the bolt head off one of the slide pin bolts, bastard was seized in there, couldn't move the caliper hat towards me to get my new pads on. And yes the pistons were all the way back.

As Far as I know all Execs etc had all the same brake callipers, Bendix Pads I bought were suited for VT/VX/VY for the fronts, So long as its not a Police Pack etc should be no probs.
vt to vz standard brakes are all the same
Yes they are all the same (standard)
Cheers everyone, I thought so but I needed confirmation.
There aren't any Holden specialist wreckers that I can get to on a bus easily, but with near 10 year of Commodores running the same gear, surely some wreckers would have one. Big question is, how much will they charge?

try a brake place for a good second hand guide pin of a nother one but all callipers std one's are the same good luck then put some brake grease on the small dust cover to the pin before you put it all toghter .
The pin is seized in there, and the head has been sheared off.
I don't really need the whole caliper, just the 'frame' (the part that bolts to the strut), and some new pins and bolts.
Probably best this failed now, instead of pushing the brakes, snapping the pin, and the brakes unevenly braking on the car, at speed that could be disastrous.
