What turbo brand and size would be reasonable for a single turbo stock ecotec only ever wanting to run 5-6ish PSI.
Long story short, i scored a cheap VT calais with rear left wheel damage which has now been repaired via a new swingarm and hub, i have a single turbo manifold for it sitting in the shed, the intercooler out of my old VL, a crapload of bends and silicon hose and lots of spare time and nothing better to do, i would be happy with a slight power gain nothing crazy, more for something to play with and bragging rights without instanly destroying the poor stock Ecotec.
Any in info would be great.
Thanks in advance
Thought i should add i have already ordered a 12mm plenum and 25mm manifold spacer, 69mm throttle body and getting some info and pricing on roller rockers atm, what other non ridiculously priced mods can i make and anything that can make the motor withstand the turbo a little better/longer, just remember i dont expect massive powergains, i would just like the motor to last ahwile.
All so unsure about running the MAF with the turbo, or to go MAF'less i have no idea and something im looking into atm, is it as simple as just getting it tuned to run MAF'less or is there more involved.
If only low psi a T3 would be pretty good.
A T25 or T28 from a Nissan Silvia SR20DET should do the job. If not that, then go for a T3.
Thanks for the replies guys.
T25 or T28 are going to be way to small. Something in the T04 range would be good.
I've seen twin T25's used on ebay kits.
