Default VX super charged V6 blown head gasket

Hi Members , before i start i did a search for blown head gasket got 120 hits. so thought i would ask the question again as my partners car is a supercharged V6. It has blown a head gasket with 110 000 km on the clock. Has been serviced and cared for and not over heated. The question is do the Supercharged V6's blow head gaskets on a regular basis or is this a one off?

    Cheers

How do you know its a blown head gasket? has a compression test been done? The V6's tend to blow intake manifold gaskets, which would result in water/oil mixing, bad idle etc.

As above. In standard form, I would say they're not anymore prone than the ecotec to doing head gaskets. The inlet manifold gaskets is what commonly fails on these.

It had air bubbles coming from the radiator and was pushing the water out of the radiator. Is at the garage being repaired ATM.

I have seen a few supercharged V6 Commodores/Statesmans that have blown the headgaskets. It could be common but I hope not because I just got one.

usually its from people not bleeding the cooling systems correctly that causes air locks and blows the head gasket(s)/cracks heads

My bro in law did his head gasket and cracked head on the super 6 last year, and i did mine last week, but mine was due to springs possibly etc.... both on LPG. When you say water pushed out, the car will build up pressure as heats up and will push water out. If its from word go then yes seems like head gaskets. It has blow mixing oil or water together vice versa, or into the air way burning water or burning oil out the exhaust.

i know there's a lot of people here who seem to love the SC V6 but the reality is they do seem to blow HGs more often

the mechanic i know who doesn't even specialise in high performance motors (if you want to call the SC v6 that) has rebuilt quite a few of them, most stock

perhaps the std. v6 does it too but since most people put in a low km wrecker motor...

My car had the exact same symptoms it turned out to be the water pump leaking and the heater core about to give out.
