I'm running my VT on duel fuel, always running on LPG but i change over at least once or twice every week to wet the injectors and keep the pump from ceasing. Well it did cease only a few months ago so i changed it about 2-3 months ago and now it seems I'm having the same problem. Every time i switch over to fuel, i try and start her and she just wont kick over... It's practically a new pump plus I've been switching regularly as required. Just hoping someone could let me on on what it could be... Injectors, pump, filter, block?? Where do i start is the question!
My one is duel fuel also and I have never changed the fuel pump in it yet, I did think it was gone a few months ago but it was the Fuel gauge stuffed again showing there was a 1/4 of a tank left but it was empty.
1, Is there Fuel in the tank ?
2, when you turn the key to lights can you hear the pump? You should hear it for a few seconds until it gets up to presser (Note: if there isn't any fuel in the tank the pump will not start.)
Plenty of fuel in the tank, i would suspect now around 40 litre. I'll see if i can hear anything next time i start it. It's kinda strange to me since I've changed it recently and keep plenty of fuel in there :-S
Have you checked the pump fuse, Also might want to check to see if the fuse is getting any power too.
Well what do you know it was the switch all along! The last time i pulled my dash apart was about two weeks ago which involved taking off the duel fuel switch. When i put it back in i had the three wires (White, Red, Green) in the wrong order, which made total sense since it was working before then... My bad!! Thanks for the advice anyway mate ;-)
