i just bought a 2001 vu2 maloo and the gear stick nob is stuffed .can i take the gear nob off so i can put a skull gear nob on in its place ..if so how do i do it .

This will be a 6 speed yes? If so then it does NOT unscrew. This will only bugger it. Remove the knob by holding firmly and pullling it straight up (with a slight wiggling motion). Yes you have to pull it hard as it will likely be quite tight. Aftermarket knob options are very limited for this type of shifter shaft since it doesn't thread on (you'll understand why when you see how it fixes). You'd need to look at possibly making a new shifter shaft and threading the top as necessary or similar. Depend on how handy you are.
