Default VX V6 II Manual Conversion

Hey guys I know this has probably been answered before but I cannot find an answer with the search button.

Basically I am converting my VXII V6 Auto to a manual. Some of you may argue that I shouldn't or should just buy a manual but my mind is made up and that's what I'm doing.

Okay so now that's out of the road I just have a couple of questions,

So I have managed to track down an entire manual conversion for a decent price and I'm seriously thinking about buying it, however my only problem is that the conversion is coming off a VU Ute.

Now my question is are there any issues with swapping all the parts over from the Ute? or should they all just fit up nicely in my series 2 sedan..? I'm not the one fitting it I have a mechanic that owes me a favour but I would hate to spend the money and get something that will now fit.

I did do some research and found that there were issues with the electronics on the series 2 vx's when doing conversions from older models but not sure how it applies In this situation

Also if there is a complete parts guide that lists everything needed for the swap it would be very appreciated if somebody could post a link for me.

As always thanks for reading and for any future help.

in my honest opinion mate.. a manual conversion is the best thing you can do do a v6's resale value mate...

the only thing that would be different is the tail shaft and you should be able to use your one... possibly might need a different flange or something(not entirly sure, never compared)

The Mechanical side is easy, just make sure you get all the parts and bolts etc. Id say use the front half of the VU tailshaft and the rear half of your current tailshaft, get the complete engine harness and manual PCM - they should both use the same 16269248 PCM (you might want to check that) but i'd imagine would have a different tune, before you try start it you will need to get the anti theft on the Manual PCM linked to your cars BCM.

    Thanks for the help guys!

Had a browse on ebay today and found this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Agreed on a price with the bloke selling it and its pretty gd!

What do you guys think..? Everything looks ok he said its from a low kms 02 VX II S pack so there should be no dramas swapping it over.

Only thing Id be worried about is the clutch, do you guys reckon its okay..?

    Cheers

Hey mate, ended up finding a sedan conversion,
Was buying the VU gear of this bloke though:

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

The item has ended but there is a number there and hes got a complete VU manual UTE. Maybe give him a call..?

    Cheers

I'm in Melbourne anyway. I've got a manual sedan one and and auto wagon one. I can't find a manual wagon one anywhere. Especially with the series 1 uni joints. But I have found a place that will cut my two and rejoin and balance it. So this will have to do. Thanks though.
