Default VX Power Antenna Not Working..

    Hey guys,

Having a slight problem with my power antenna in my VX Lumina.. the antenna is stuck up and I can also hear the motor run everytime I turn the key on and off. So it is trying to put the antenna up and down but with no success.

What do you guys reckon is the problem? I'm leaning towards the antenna been out of place or something like that but don't really know where to start and hoping someone here can give me some advice on what to check to fix this..

    Cheers,
    Nick

you need a rope and mast

the plastic rope that attaches to the cog inside the aerial motor breaks off and wont retract...

if you turn ignition on and radio on so it should be all the way up

then lean in car and turn radio off while pusshing down ontop of the aerial it should go back in but will get stuck when it goes all the way up again...

Sweet thanks for the quickly reply mate.

Whats the rope and mast like to replace? Any threads explaining how to do it or is it pretty straight forward?

    not sure, search maybe lol~!

push aerial in as far as you can while radio turning off
    ignition off
take front left wheel off then inner gaurd and mud flap
then 13mm bolt on aerial motor AND screw for static earth above motor (leave inside gaurd) and connector/plug
then (my way) attach a (exposed end of wire) wire to the bolt ONLY on the motor and nip it up by hand
then attach other end of wire to the screw for the static earth cable and nip it up (without the static cable)
connector plug for aerial motor plug back in
pop lh indicator lenz out of gaurd
stick end of motor through hole in gaurd for indicator
undo 13mm silver cap on end/top of aerial MOTOR
take cap off over the end of mast
    turn radio on
pull mast and antena out all the way whil its turning on(going up)
get new one from holden lol
    put rope end into motor
turn radio off and feed rope into motor (is tricky take a few goes to get it right)
once motor stops put 13mm cap back on and nip it up
once motor stops if not in far enough try again (2seconds on then turn off and push down again)
then turn it on again and it will go all the way up and click lots then turn it off and it should go all the way back in

if it doesnt work as above you buy a aerial motor WITH mast and replace the whole thing it sucks but thats how
you gotta do it either way you gotta pull gaurd (inner) out...

or take it to your professional.......
