i seem to have a coolant leak, ive chased the leak to somewhere above the crank pully and below the bottom on the water pump. anyone got any idea`s ? seems to be a slow leak just a pain in the arse to see in the area.
Also have a oil leak, changed the rear main seal and valuve cover gaskets and still leaking,I just want to check everything else before i assume its the sump gasket.
And last question will vy tappets fit my vt ls1? i only ask cause mine are worn and noisy as hell, or should i just buy some performance tappets?
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them
I'd say your waterpump is leaking, as for your oil leak it may be the oil pressure switch, when you did the rear main seal did you change the plate too? and yes VY lifters should be fine
The leak i would say is either the water pump gasket or the pump itself.
I have heard of dodge rear main seals letting go after a coulpe of weeks???not really much help as you would still have to take the gearbox out to check it.
as for the tappets i would say yes, but i dont know for sure.

definately the main pulley on the water pump mate, mine was doing this a while ago got a new one from ebay for 170, i have some ls1 lifters if you want them, only ONE is noisy but its not noticible
not really sure about how the rearmain was done as i took it to a mechanic to do since i didnt have much time on my hands with work and crap,
As for the water pump i had a quick look and im guessing the last owner had it replaced since it has a Repco brand on it.
Anyhow hows the best way to get a clear veiw of the water pump ?

Your best bet would be to take it off an replace it with a new one.

Took me about 3hrs to change mine, was my 1st time an i didnt have all the tools at my house. so maybe only an hour an a half if you have everything you need.

Try getting a mirror and sticking it near the radiator to have a look and see if it is weeping out of the hole at the bottom
you should be able to see it from the side, just under the pulley while its running. a repco branded water pump wtf? they dont last long if you dont run coolant. not saying you dont but the previous owner was probly slack. my car is on its third water pump after 200k
