    Default l67 I want more power

    Hi there I recently bought a VT S s/c v6 was happy at first but want more. What upgrades will I need to do to be eating up 5.0l's got $1000 to invest in this cause lol. Options and ways to go about it would be great

    With the 10lb pulley do I need any other mods other than the press on pulley?

    what is it in ? a vr wagon??


    there is/was a set of yt 1.9.1 ulta light rockers on l67torque for $400.... save ya a couple of bucks if ya looking to get some...



    if ya likew the sound of the blower and want it louder put a pod on it (in an enclosed box)makes it 10times louder

    na just service it.. may need a shorter belt..

    and ya should get the 'hub' style pulley.. then ya can just swap pulleys with an alan key in the future... little more expensive but well worth it..

    Pulley say $250 and my mate can fit with press. Leaves around $750 would that cover rockers plus fitted? Is the Xu6 tune worth putting on?

    i reckon it would. the rockers are pretty easy to swap, just hit ya mate up lol...

    and if ya thinking of getting em i'd def go those $400 yellaterra one's. save ya a couple of hunderd.... ya could pm 'big ev' on here, they're his..

    if ya not in a hurry and wana save a couple of bucks zzp overseas sell the pulleys for about $100ish but just have to wait for postage.. where as mace will have it at ya door the next morning



    the xu6 tune? they're ok, but ya dont get massive gains..... is it worth it?- depends how much ya pay for it i wouldnt pay $200 for one thou.....
    i got a vt one off greenfoam im selling for $50..

    and if ya taking the snout off to swap the pulleys, get a new coupler for it too(only about $30) save ya taking snout off again in the future.... there just pretty common to wear and blower start's rattling at idle and sounds shitt..

    Wicked. I have to wait 2 weeks to prove to the mrs iv quit smoking and im goin for it. Will it give me more acceleration top end too? Seems a bit slow from 170km/h - 200

    gee's dude, who gives a toss what it dose above 150kph, unless its a track car..
    its all good to drive quick but 170-200kph is a bit much isnt it?.

    You want a 3.8L V6 to (147kw engine) to beat a 5.0L engine with $1000?
    Are there lots of people like this on the forums that buy a clapped up car and wanna be racers?

    Start with something more solid and invest the money into that.
    I Guess we have all done those project cars but trying to get sports performance from a family car is difficult.

    You want a 5.0L eater thats not another v8? Go buy a Evo 7+ and get it breathing better, or buy a wrx and do the same thing.
    An R33 GTR with minor mods would do the same, I had an S15 with 20k on the engine that did low 11's on the track and beat many whippled v8's due to its weight to power.

    and an evo? haaaa... i've got a 'l67 v6 and with bugger all mod's still shit all over a riced up evo, he got a good head start too..
    a vz v8 aswell.. were behind him, he went for gold racing his mate and i thought i'd have a crack floored it and had to back off or would hav rear ended him..
    the l67's are not as bad as everyone thinks they are.. especially 0-100...
    a clapped out v6 n/a yeah would hav to agree there a bit average....

    I belive he is talking about the L67 which is the factory supercharged 3.8 v6 171kw i think, which wouldnt have much trouble beating a 5L

    Now Saving for a Harrop HTV2300 Supercharger kit!

    ahhh.. yeah not the v90.. durka durka.

    Still i think the VT is too heavy compared to other 6 turbo's (like r32's) to even draw a comparison.
    And even though i have gone over to the dark side (muscle over tuners).. a Lan EVO with the most basic of mods would cream the VT.. if the rider wasnt a tool.
    Also on the track you would have to be a monkey to not be able to hit the corners and hairpins at max speed with its setup.. same with a wrx.

    My S15 was sex for going sideways.. but i admit i love the torque of V8's now.. om nom nom..

    rather an LS1 or LS3 now over a 6 or 4 banger v8 ftw

    A VT with an L67 in it has almost the same amount of torque as a VT with a 5L in it. The difference is where the torque is applied (the L67's torque comes on quicker) so with little mods on the L67 (boost upgrade and rockers) it would beat the 5L easily!

    With those $400 rockers you will get a boost upgrade as well, all for under $1000
    VT V6 fitted with DMS gold 40mm coilovers, Whiteline adjustable swaybars & strut brace, 330mm AP racing brakes, Rebuilt 3.45:1 LSD and a Powerdyne supercharger

    Had a go with a 5.0l the other night. 0-100 was about the same. Don't want a race car don't want it overly loud like a 8. Just want it under the radar where I can show a 5.0l that an awesome roar ain't everything. Lol and yes I agree my brother has a WRX stock and it would eat me for breakfast. 0-220km/h in a matter of seconds. Then again when I went car shopping I didn't have 35k in the bank to get that sort of power. 10psi pulley and a set of rockers sounds the go for my family car as for 190km/h, country road and wanted to see what she had in her. Next question lol does anybody know top speed of a VT S l67? and does it have a limiter on it?

    i went to the drags last night in townsville. i have 10psi, mace rockers,mace cai modded to fit 4" intake and a twin 2.5 catback redback exhaust. and i was half a sec or more faster then a few 5l's they were lightly modded though. ran a 14.8 in the calais so you are bound to go faster if you have a spac which is 100kg lighter (roughly)

    Is there a limiter on top speed? I noticed most of my car is basically an SS with black side under skirts and rear apron and the obvious v6 engine. What things make a stock S pack different to say your calias or a berlina with factory fitted s/c v6? Watched your youtube link Wana s'charged stock VT pretty mad. Just the difference in shift and exelleration is awsome between mods. Can't wait to get some more balls about mine

    calais has "extras" climate control, extra sound deadening etc honestly i dont know how much extra but they are a heavier car. 100kg is probly a bit excessive, a very rough guestimate. either way you will be able to beat 5 litres with ease!
