BTW, I'm going to be doing an oil change and some other stuff in about November to my car. I'll give someone two slabs if you just help me out with it. I'm fairly new to all this stuff and I'm eager to learn, I'm in SE Suburbs of Melbourne.

Hello.....due to the high holden dealer service price :b: ..($230 just for fluids) im looking for a retired mechanic or an out of work mechanic looking to earn a few $$$ tax free......what i want done is a full service to spec on a vt berlina (i dont mind supplying the oils and what ever else is needed.a set of new plugs and quik look at the brakes......i also have a vp commie that needs these thing done to it for a rwc,,,,,,new disc pads front and rear( i have the pads).new drvers side mirror(the glass bit is broken and needs to be replaced)de grease the motor.replace pass side rear indicatore and may be a tune up......i also have a ford explorer xlt un 1997 (its the wifes taxi ) that needs a non working horn fixed ( it aint the fuses)if you are in or around the south east of melb and a good.retired,out of work,mechanic ( must know what your doing)please drop me a small note and we can have a chat about what you would like to charge for the above work. ps im also looking for some small body work to be done on the vt (drivers mirror re painted and some scratches taken out of the body ...also i have a few other freinds who may be interested small jobs done on thair cars. all work done will be paid with cash ^only^ on the day and at the end of the job.ps i dont mind having to drive a few km for GOOD WORK ...... have a good week end .....................cheers

hey gen11 i think ill be getting my vt done by dr bob as i need the remote programmed and i need the stereo pin......if your in melb i still need disc pads put on a vp front and rear( i have the pads....i also need a side mirror replaced and a few more odds and end to get it ready for a rwc........im not sure exactly what was on the list but there was a few thing that need to be done if you can get out to the south east of melb? drop me a message/////ps if any one out there does body work im looking for some light touch up to be done............................thanks again.................take it easy

Hi guys. New to the forum and looking for someone to give me a hand to service my 98 VT wagon. I would like to learn how to do it myself. Basically just changing the oil, coolant, filters, plugs and anything else that should be done. I am in Frankston, Vic if anyone would like to give me a hand

hi kojamoz.....im not far from you......i just had new leads put in my vt......its aint like the old days of putting a few leads on.....i think your is the same..when changing the leads on a vt ( i dont know about other models) you need to undo or loosen the altinatore to get 3 leads on the left side. you will also have to take the drive belt off ( the right hand side is easy and then put it all back 2 gether? ( i didnt do this myself i had a mate who is a holden mechanic do it for me)there are a few plastic clips and so on as well as the plastic v6 plastic top cover had to come of.......it took my mate 40 50 minutes to do it and he works for a holden dealer and does it every day) if you kinda good with ya hands give it a go......if not make sure you watch some 1 do it be for you try doing it yourself......( and thats just for the leads 45 minutes)........................cheers

If your from Frankston then I would recommend you go to APS service centre. I think they are in New Street and they do a good job. They are into vt's vz's and have a lot of hot cars through their workshop Also have found them to be knowledgeable and helpful. Remember you pay for what you get and it is better done right the first time. U make up your own mind Worth a visit to ask advice??????

yes i understand you pay for what you get? but the servicing of a car aint that hard to do yourself...i cant do it but im sure an out of work or retired mechanic could do just as good of a job( may be just a little cheaper)any thing other than a tune or service,brakes, i would take it to a holden work shop.......................................cheeers
