Hey there, I am repairing a fairbit on my 98 VT after i got bad news from the mechanics a few weeks ago. I am just wanting some advice on a few things.
In the mechanic report it said the rear sub frame bushings needed to be replaced, what bushings would theses' be? (im looking on ebay) This is my list to buy.
IF you know where i can get parts cheaper, please give me info!

    Brake disc $180
    Brake pads $60
    Steering rack $300
    Bushing $300
    Gasket $150
    Radiator cap $15
    Engine Mount $100
    Tie rod $30
    Air Filter $100
    Realignment $100
    10mm bolt for engine cover
    Tooth brush
    Engine cover bushing
    $100 misc items

    Budget $1400

    Thankyou!

    Brake pads $60
    Steering rack $300

Gasket $150 (What the hell sort of gasket costs you $150? Unless its head gaskets)
    Radiator cap $15
    Engine Mount $100
Tie rod $30 (Check the reco rack doesn't already come with new ones)
Air Filter $100 (Had better be a K&N or similar)
    Realignment $100
    10mm bolt for engine cover
    Tooth brush (????)
    Engine cover bushing
    $100 misc items

    Budget $1400

Hey thanks rebuild has been progressing...picked up a pair of slotted DBA front rotors off ebay for $190 (incl postage)...got bendix general CT pads $55, KN air filter $70, engine mount $60 (kelpro high quality), best oil filter, new sensor switch, penrite 10-40w oil, new rad cap, new engine oil cap seal, new rocker cover gaskets and bolt seals, found beaurepaires does wheel alignments for $60 at keperra brisbane, (tooth brush was shopping list to help scrub degreaser parts). I still need to replace the passenger engine mount, do the rocker gaskets and seals, swap the new rotors and pads in, replace front sway bar link, replace D bushes...so my works cut out but im actually really enjoying it so far, i know a decent amount about cars but have never fully worked on them like this but i am learning how to fix so much stuff and identify problems. I had no idea oil changes were so easy hehe. Anyone know where i can get cheap steering racks or any guides to recon a steering rack, i'd really like to learn how to fix them.

Try eBay. Usually can get a reco'd one for $200.
