Default Whos changed out a LS1 and box in VT VX VY?

    Hi
I just pulled a Ls1 and box out of a doner car that had no radiator support and noticed it was abit more effort then i would have liked.
from what i can see it looks like it would be easier to drop the k K frame, Strut and gearbox mounts and roll the engine out having to degass the air con obviously
this to me would seem like a easier way to go about it
Surely someone has done LS1 with auto and would know the pros and cons?
    cheers
    Cris

Na dont do the k frame thing,
Just briefly this what i do.,
may not be perfect or whatever or may have missed few things but as its off the top me head... BUT

    Its easy bro,

lift the engine and box out as an assembly, you can wire the aircon compressor and power steering out the road, Bonnet off, disconnect drain cooling system, fans/radiator out, computer and wiring all come out with engine in 1 hit, disconect 3 big plugs on firewall, unlplug bcm, unplug/undo earth wires ect, trans breath hose, throttle cable, fuel lines, exhaust off, tailshaft out, support rear crossmember and lower it as you lift the engine and roll car back at same time, it all comes down to where you have your lifting point on the chain thats d-shackled to the lifting points on the motor, I use a strong paddlock through the chain to hold the block and tackle hook In the "sweet spot" position for the motor to come out as its a balancing act as just suggested i just use block and tackle. trully is easy once done it a few times theres been the odd time i have honestly lifted and put in ls1's without help it trully is that easy once you got the hang of it and get the lifting point right... hope this helps.... pretty sure most lift it out as an assembly... ps ppl i realise i may missed a few things pls no baggers jus tryn help...
