Default VX SS Power Steering Whirring Noise

    Hi,

I've got a quite loud whirring noise when turning the wheel in my VX. It's the sound i would expect to hear when the fluid is low but the power steering fluid is clean and full, no leaks or anything. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

The blades inside the power steering pump may have been glazed from either over heating or running dry if fluid got too low once or twice..
Either that or its a idler pulley..

try replace pump and idler pulleys..

You might have some air in the system, you can try bleeding it by turning you steering wheel from full lock to full lock a few times.

Maybe its your steering rack, jack the front end up and grab your wheels and turn from side to side to check

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a look over it tomorrow, oddly I did notice it's not an issue when it's cold, only when it warms up a bit O.o

Could be that your power steering pump is on the way out, that's how mine started out before the pump died. The steering got progressively heavier too. You'll know in about a fortnight.
