maloo bumper
hey all so both the rear left and right quarters on my vu are pretty banged up due to an accident. im waiting on a quote for a repair as the RHS quarter is fine but the skirt is rooted and the opposite on the LHS with the quarter screwed and the skirt fine. Just wondering if its worth putting a maloo one piece bumper on as now would be the time. I found this on ebay reasonably cheap HSV Maloo rear bumper body kit - Holden VU/VX Ute | eBay
Ive messaged the seller but does anyone know what happens with the number plate light? and how would i lower my spare wheel as thiers no hole? my biggest concern though is because its aftermarket and not genuine how well will it fit to my car. what do we think?

i got a aftermarket bar on my SS, not only did it save me $200 the panel beater reckons it was a better quality compared to the standard one, and fitted like a glove.
well a product like that would be ideal, it says that this bumper is lighter than a genuine one. but as i would be getting from queensland i would want it to fit.

gotta take a gamble, i thought for ages "wonder if itll fit" and it ended up fitting like a glove
any ideas on number plate light and spare tyre hole mate? may be things i need to do myself, not very hard but how can you sell products that make you lose functionality like that.

no idea, maybe message the seller on ebay and ask what the go is, he might be able to recommend what to do
yeah im waiting on a reply, buy the time i buy it,ship it,2 pac it and fit it it'll be close to $500 so depending on my quote ill get 2moro it'll be intresting to see the price diff and if its worth it.
Holy crap man!! DO NOT buy from that guy!! The body kits are f&@"$n so bad my crash repairer told me to throw it in the bin! One side was sitting right angles to the front guard and one side skirt was 4" short! Yes that's right. Tried to resolve it and get my 780 back but they refused and straight out said " that's fiberglass mate deal with it, you're problem now" I wish there was more of a way from blocking these dicks from eBay. IMO get a genuine one as you said it's under insurance right?
Oh really! I'm glad I know that...that's the exact kind of shit Im worried about. Well I'm not going through insurance because it'll cost the same in excess than to do private and then my premium will go up. Besides insurance would only cover the original bumpers, if I wanted the maloo one I'd have to put in the extra myself. Ok so does anyone know where I can find a genuine vu maloo bumper?
they are very rare! but keep your eye out on ebay, even then i have only seen one in the past couple of years

my dad got a quote for close to $2000 for a genuine one.
Yeah that doesn't surprise me, just the maloo badge on the side costs $750 for a bit of plastic
So surprisingly the quarters are $60 brand new and the skirt is $50. I would like a maloo one but considering I can't find one looks like it's back to the normal style. They want to charge nearly $500 for spraying them up! Think I'll just get my missus old man to do it instead.

My brother has a slighty damaged black front and rear Maloo bumpers that he took off his VU. Im pretty sure they are VY Maloo style though.
Hey mate well if thier off his vu...did he put a vy kit on and change his lights bonnet and guards?

It came with it on when he bought it. I think it's just a fiberglass copy of a VY kit to suit a VU, but he changed them back to the standard bumpers (which also came with the car) after he damaged them a bit. Not sure if they are repairable or not but I could email pics if you like.

Not sure. Not much though in guessing. The ute is being sold in the next week or 2 and the Maloo bumpers are just taking up space in my garage.

Haha funny shit. Nah they belong to Tim. I've emailed the photos, it was about 6mb so I hope they worked. I dont think he will want much for them because he's not using them anyway. Let us know and you can come have a look on the weekend or something.
Yeah the front one I reckon I could fix dunno bout the back. Would prob wanna come have a look. Find out what he wants for them mate.

So I'm still after a maloo rear bumper. Theirs only one guy on eBay selling an aftermarket one but apparently he's dodge. I've looked everywhere on the net for aftermarket ones and can't find zip. Anyone know a place?
