im getting a full service on the v6

hi im getting a full service on the motor....would it be a good idea at the same time to have the auto serviced as well...the cars only done 105k and i was wondering if i should get a auto service as well......is it one of those thing it better to stay the safe side of.....or dosnt the auto play up that much......any feedback would be great........thanks for you time . have a great week end and a better weeks start....................cheers tony..........

I believe the auto is supposed to be done every 110k. Just had mine done a month ago.

im going to be getting mine done now that you said it should be done at 110k im at 106k so it aint far off...i havnt a prob with it i just wanna keep the services up to date so i know its been done as ive only owmed the car for 8 weeks...the 1st owner always looked after it...........so ill be doing the same......thanks agin..........cheers...........tony from melb

I'm a mechanic, it doesn't cost much to do urself, 5 litres of dextron-$30, genuine filter- $30, genuine sump gasket-$30(replace old cork one with vs/vt rubber one, it's reuseable). Tip: don't replace seal on filter. When u remove filter from housing 9 out of ten transmissions, the seal will stay in place, use old seal, it does f#ck all. Take note of how filter retainer clip sits. Note: It's not like the old days with the tri-matics where u had to do band adjustments. Trans services should be done yearly regardless of kms, it will prolong the life of your trans, especially under heavy conditions, send me a message if ya want help.
