hey i have a supercharged vt and the belts were whining a bit in the mornings so i used some crc belt spary and it made it worse straight away it is driving me nuts
possibly time for a new belt, You can try chulk as well. Run some chulk along the belt on the ribbed side, may stop the noise for a short period of time. Are you sure it's not a pulley causing the noise?
dont use belt spray, it apparently is s**T from what blokes at work have been saying? whether its true or not who knows lol
Just put a new belt on it. Not that expensive.
Its more then likely that its your bearing in the idler pulleys are stuffed
To see if it is the belt, just spray some water on the belt when its cold. If its goes quiet, then buy a new belt.
cheers for that im just going 2 get new belts and pully bearings thanks heaps thou
i heard soap on the ribbed side of the belt or soapy water
I had a very similar problem and replaced my 2 idle pulleys and tension pulley which solved it. I also changed my serp/acces belt while I was at it.
The whole procedure cost me $90 for brand new parts but you could find 2nd hand pulleys at a wrecker for much cheaper.
Hope you fix it.
new belts is good idea.
