Didn't they come with some kind of instructions? I'm sure a K&N cleaning kit would suffice?

On my old v6, i used the cleaning kit then would use the garden hose and blast it from the inside out to get all the dirt out, worked really well

Rub a little bit of handsoap or detergent into them then blast then inside out with a hose until the water runs clear, make sure you let then dry properly before you oil it though

Are they designed to be cleaned? The k&n ones etc are but the cheap ones aren't.

K&N use a recharge kit to clean them but personally i dont use a K&N filter (not a pod either)...I use a drift filter in my airbox in both the V6 and the LS1 reason being Drift filters you can use as a dry filter you can just wash them or recharge also the frame of a K&N is a flimsy compared to a drift filter...pick up both of them you will see how much stronger the drift frame is...ive heard that WRX guys will not touch a K&N filter because they bend and the oils get sucked up into the manifold...drift will flow just if not better than a K&N and there cheaper and stronger....in my opinion pods i wouldnt look at there just suckng in warm air if you havent got them placed properly.

I cleaned my fake k&n panel about a month back I used it for about 60k km's on 2 cars it was dirty as, applied the cleaning stuff to the dirty side and let it sit for a few mins then rinsed it with warm water (the water was filthy lol) took ages for the water to come clean then i let it dry thoroughly (air dry only) and oiled it with the supplied oil (don't over oil it or it will get sucked into the motor and run like shit). used a k&n recharge kit was about $30 from supercrap auto.
