Hey guys,
I just recently picked up a VT for a steal off a mate who was upgrading and I was thinking of putting my manual trans from my VN commodore into it. I'm assuming it isn't just a straight swap what will I need to get? perhaps a new
bell housing? Any tips and hits would be much appreciated Thanks![]()
Im not mechanic but after doing a bit of research for my own manual conversion (VX) your probably better off selling the VN and grabbing a conversion kit from a VT from a wrecker, that way at least you will get all the interior bits and the whole thing will just bolt up. Much less hassle
U can bolt vn t5 manual box using vn bellhousing straight to ecotec man, then just need to get tailshaft shortened and put vn front yolk on it. Then need manual memcal to put in your computer so car runs, then make custom box cross member, ull need to modify vn pedal box to fit vt and need early vs commodore that ran the t5 box flywheel to bolt to back of vt motor
