Hey,
Was just wondering how hard is it to fit T.C. to a car that doesn't have it?
cheers,

I don't know for sure what's involved but you need to ABS brakes for traction control to work, so if you haven't got that you will need to install ABS brakes as well.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
You need ^^^what he said, plus a different computer plus a different engine bay wiring harness and if you are doing it yourself, a lot of patience and some electronic skills.
Hmmmm alright then. Just thought i might see if i can, seems i can but is a bit more work than i can afford right now haha. nut it goes on the list of to do's :P
VTs have a generation one TC so you basically don't want it
hell even more advanced traction control systems like on FGs and BMWs are crap too
you just don't need it or want it
yeah, TC might be a little safer, but give u hassles in the long run.
just curious as to why someone wouldnt want TC and what hassles it brings?
My hassle with TC is this. Imagine, early evening with light rain falling. I need to do a U-turn. Cars coming are a safe distance away. I am about 1/2 way through the turn and give it a little more throttle. 1 rear wheel breaks traction and the TC takes over dropping about 4 cylinders and leaves me staring at a bunch of cars looking like they are driving in my drivers door. Fortunately, I have enough momentum to coast all the way through the U-turn. Go home and peruse skid marks in my u-daks.
^^ good answer.
The only traction control I need is bald tires for my mangtech OOOHH YEEAHHHHHH
monkeys437 just hit the nail on the head! That's all you need, I hate traction and abs its always a shitload of hassle half the time when I brake the ####ing light comes on when theres nothing wrong with the abs system which turns traction control off automatically. When you think about it, it kinda defeats the purpose of putting abs and traction control onto a car if it doesn't even work properly!!!
My traction control is turned off all the time!!
I have never had any issues with the T/C in my VX SS.
Admittedly, I've got a 240,000KM Ecotec VT, and I'm a P plater who has been known to trash the car from time to time. No hassles with T/C for me either.
Traction control has improved from VT to VX. I had traction control in my VT Acclaim and it was a little dangerous in some situations, however the T/C in my WH Caprice is different and much better so I am assuming that VX would be the same.

I don't have any issues with my traction control either.
There is always an off button when you need it off!
