Does the fuel relay need to be disconnected , engine run & fuel cap removed or can the fuel filter be removed with out going through this process ? Now I would not attempt this (risk of petrol in face) but it would settle a small bet with a mate. Cheers- Ronno

Be aware that even after de-pressurising some fuel will still pour out, so keep your face away.

Bunch of pussies.....Jack right rear up, remove wheel, unclip old filter with a container underneath to catch the fuel that will run out, fit new filter the right way round, replace wheel, lower car. Happy motoring. 20 minute job at the very most. There is no need to go through all that crap of depressurising the fuel system....
Removing the wheel makes it easier to get to the filter and avoiding laying under the car having fuel run all over you.
You're the man, Not_An_Abba_Fan.....Thanks for that tip!

run it out of fuel by pulling the relay first man.
