    Default Overheating - no fans.

    Can anyone help me?

Have a VX SS. Fans aren't going which is causing it to overheat. But temp reads normal.

I found one of the relays for the fans was corroded. But don't know that's the problem because the temp gauge would read right and high when overheating.

Is this the temp sender? And would that relate to the fans not coming on?

    Any help would be awesome.

    Thanks !!

For the time being I think if you disconnect the sensor, the fans should come on permanently.

Probibly sounds as tho its the temp sender unit. Try what tezza said & if the fans come on atleast you know it shouldnt be the wiring, if they dont....well, check plug connectors & go from there.

Thanks for that. Unplugged it and fans came on. But now I'm a little confused.

Now have fans on and the temperature gauge is reading high when left sitting idling.

Is this because the sender is unplugged or because I have another problem with cooling system?

The sensor isn't communicating with your cluster so don't worry what that..
