vp 5l fit to vt

My mate just had his vp rear ended and is willing to give me the 5l under the hood of it. Don t know specifics yet but just wondering what the go would be with replacing the ecotec in my 5 speed vt wagon with it? Like stuff that would need replacing and man hours of work of put in?

If its a VP engine I dont think you can legally put it in a VT. (older engine in newer car)

im pretty sure monkey is right, plus even if it was legal why would you bother? the VT roller block and sequential (spelling) injection makes the VT 5ltr a MUCH better motor

buy a gemini and put it in that ;-)

you can't put an older engine into a newer car it wont meet ADR's for emmisions and if you get caught its big fines and you wont be able to register it. you can put a vp v8 in anything older than a VR (not 100% sure on that though it is my understanding, check with RTA first).

Sell both the v8 and v6 and then use that money to put towards a vt 5ltr roller cam engine.... No issues with emissions this way.....
