at lights problems!

hey all i have a vt acclaim whenever iam at the lights the car dies out then after afew minutes of cranking the car starts again and is all ok back to normal what could be this problem?

Could need spark plugs/leads or vacume leak. Idle control valve? Does it happen in driveway at home? Cold/hot? Perhaps a bit more information might result in some more replies from the more experienced cheers

When was the last full service done? As bricat says, spark plugs, leads and vacuum leak are suspects here. Also consider the fuel pump and fuel filter. Engine needs 3 main things to run, air, fuel and spark. Unless your air filter is completely blocked you should be looking at fuel and spark. I saw another post here where the coil pack base was at fault. Loose connection where the harness joins the coil pack base.

Dose it only do it when its hot ? could be the Crank sensor ??
