They sound ok to me I googled them and can't find anything bad about them, if they give a warranty then I'd say go for it.

depending on the budget, why not step it up to the 6.0 litre from a vz or ve instead of 5.7 litre?

From what i have read about the 5.7ltr-6.ltr conversion i think you have to mod/change afew sensors. seems abit high tech to me lol althou if its cheaper to just slap and play a 6ltr then id prolly go with that idea. cause i can get a 5.7ltr motor from commwreck for $2000

The main sensor you have to worry about is on the crank, this one tells you the position of the crank as it rotates. The 5.7 has 24x reluctor wheel & 1 cam gear while the 6.0 has a 58x reluctor wheel & 4x cam gear. To change these sensors you would normally have to remove the crank from memory but,the is a little conversion doodad that basically plugs in & converts the signal from 24x to 58x. Everything else is fairly simple, motor just bolts in, accessories are the same etc. Start with the 6.0 litre & your ahead in power to weight ratio from the start

That doesn't sound to hard at all mate, and at least going with the 6ltr it won't have the 5.7 ticking and tapping noises. Would I have to change the computer over as well?will the 6spd gearbox bolt straight up and what would be a good price to pay for the 6ltr from a wreckers?

Well after poking around the web ive found to do the ls1-ls2 swap id need to change the wiring harness and play around with the cam gear crank gear etc, seems abit to messy for me.
and for prices ive found that commwreck do a ls2 for$4200 and ls1 for $2000 , so another ls1 with cam, valves, springs done it will out do the ls2 hands down and save afew $$$ . thanks for the help guys
