I'm in need of a new coil pack and looking to get a msd setup. Where do I buy them from? I'm in Vic and don't want them off eBay. Would TTT or mace stock them? Cheers
if ttt or mace cant help you try rocket or vpw.
I thought the L67 coils were better then MSD anyway.

Yeah some thing about dwell and charge rates or something. Went right over my head but yeah.

ebay sells them for $190 + p&h for a set of 3. But ive also was told the factory l67 coils where better. I would love to see someone do a test on a MSD pack and a L67 pack to see the diffrence

Already been tested on L67 torque
This Test was done By Zapper hes a member here as well as the l67 torque
The coils arent readily avaliable from Holden and also are very compared to the msd coils but you might be interested in this test done by a member of the L67 forum
Hi Guys I have been doing a bit of testing with various genuine Holden coil packs. I have 3 sets of l67 coils and 3 sets of standard emotec coils and 1 set of MSD's
I have used the Holden test procedure from the diagram below.

As you can see from this the coil packs read on average exactly the same.
So against common belief there doesn't seem to be a difference between blue and white packs.
I called a friend from GMH engine assembly and production last night and he seems to think that the coil pack, DFI and mounting bracket was imported as a unit from the US plant because of the fewer numbers needed for production runs in Australia.
This would explain the different color bases and Part numbers.
The MSD coil packs findings were very different to the specifications on there web site: Go Figure..
Here's what we found using the same Holden test method as above on the MSD Coil Packs..

Googled about this today they are almost the same. Not much difference at all. The msd seem to be the more reliable above 10psi and bigger mods but not usually needed. Priced the msd at autobarn got quoted $90 each delivery Monday. I went to repco and ended up getting a set of the l67 ones for trade price and some. Paid $32 each and then baught another set of plugs and still saved money. I was impressed with my car when I baught it. The last couple of days have been a bit scary. With a service, coil packs plugs , leads, fuel filter and deleting bypass solenoid. Bit of troubles but now see what all the hype I read about on the l67 was for. Can I say damn f@cking quick. Lol looking forward to some more mods.happy as.
Bypass solenoid is there for a reason but ok....
