I have a very low vx and it has had a few wheel alignments and they say while it is that low that can't get it right ..... Any suggestions
Can't get the front or rear right? The front should have enough adjustment to get right, but the rear can be a problem. You should fit a four point camber kit to the rear to get more adjustment. I can do a SuperPro one for $185 posted.
pff... take it somewhere else or keep taking it back
if you haven't tried Pedders, they are in mudgee some stores have a bad rap (careful), but my local pedders get my vz driving straight as!
Yea rito cheers .... Just had to 1 place say they couldn't get it right and one say they couldn't get it on there hoist lol
The camber won't even come close to being 'right'. A pedders did that to me once, said that there is no warranty on the wheel alignment due to worn suspension components (when nothing was worn that bad). I have factory lowering (FE2) and with a camber kit and a bit of a tweak of the control arm I was able to get my rear camber within an acceptable range. While I was waiting a lady came in with a Commodore lowered on 20's just like yours. I think she had at least 3 degrees camber on the rear and they couldn't even start to improve it until the guards were rolled, otherwise the wheel will foul on the guard with improved camber. Unless there are other clearance issues in the front, which I don't know a whole lot about, the two before mentioned points are probably your problem. Lowered cars are a pain in the arse.
Yea they are a pain but I would have my car any other way :-) I'll take to pedders and see what they say
from what i got told on my previous vt which had squashed springs and on 19's, the camber bushes can only adjust so far to straighten wheel up, so there will still be some negative camber and tyre wear problems. adding the toe adjustment allows a wheel aligner to angle both back tyres toward the centre of the car to even out the tyre wear (this will make the outside wear). so either way your never gonna get the same wear out of the tyres but they "should still wear even" but if you can find a wheel aligner who knows what theyre doing please inform us!
