feel like we're forever fixing something in our holdens :/

my air has suddenly cut out temp wise... its hot on when set to heat but warm/air temp outside car when set to cold.

so far we've changed heater tap as it started leaking yesterday, there is NO vacuum to the tap via the little vac hose.. so i just ripped the plastic out under dash an adjusted the lil white clip which is turning now but its still warm on cold.. i did find a orange wire in there just hanging thats come attached.. im assuming its attached to the vac hose somewhere along way.. but where is whats stumping me.

i still have gas in the compressor which is working and the pressure from vents is great, never switches vents on own or looses pressure on hills highways.

so does anyone know where this wire is suppose to go to and if that could be whats causing my aircon to fail?
