    Default fan wires unplugged

I went to a mechanic to get my driveshaft fixed. I left my car there for a couple hours. Came back home. But when I drove two days later on the higway and went to a friends home when I parked the car the radiator was leaking. There was a hiss sound coming like if there was some kind of pressure release valve and water coming out. Luckily my friend was a mechanic and both fan wires were unplugged! The car did not overheat because I was in the higway all the time and the temperature was constant just a little more than normal. Plug the fans back in filled it with water. The leak stopped after two minutes and the car is running fine now no leaks and fans working. So do these cars have a pressure relief valve. My car is 2000 model. Also the car never did this before and when I went to the mechanic then this happened.

When a radiator gets too hot it will boil over, the "leak" would of been fluid escaping through the coolant overflow line....nothing to be concerened about mate, its there so you dont blow up your radiator with too much pressure

Check your overflow reservoir. If it is normal level then look for any signs of leaks elsewhere. Might even pay to get a cooling system pressure test done now that you have seen it leaking. Better safe than cooked motor. And thermo fan plugs do not just fall out, they have a secure fixing setup.

Exactly what it sounds like mate. Id go back to them and say that I only just checked the cooling fan plugs and wiring the other day because the thermos werent working because of a faulty relay, and then ask them why they had been unplugged, as the thermos were obviously plugged in and were working fine just before the car was dropped off to them..Id love to see the look on their faces.
These "so-called" mechanics needs a flogging if thats what is in fact going on there.
