Went to the mechanic for 150K service he said i needed to replace cracked bushings. Apparently the front caster. Was wondering how to go about replacing these, on my 2001 VX exec.
Particularly what supports are needed, and how involved it is.
I had a look in the Haynes manual, and it said nothing about bushings. I believe that they are on the z bar?
Cheers Pat
Just about to do mine on the VU mate.
Pretty much just need to jack up the front end (I plan on using a couple of stands) - This will take the weight off them so you can undo.
It's then as easy as unbolting each of the 2 castors and pulling out/replacing.
I'm doing it around the same time as lowering so will do a wheel alignment also and have heard this is suggested after replacing the castors anyway.
Cheers
theres a "how to" thread on here. and yes it is a very easy job to do yourself.
